Some students avoid cooking fish because they believe it to be excessively expensive, but there are a few different tricks you may take to cut costs:
1 Buy frozen
Fish that is purchased frozen typically costs far less than fish that is purchased fresh. Additionally, you don't have to prepare it all at once because it can be stored for a lot longer.
2 Go local
Local shops can occasionally be less expensive than national supermarkets. We are located in Portsmouth, which has many locations where you can go for fresh seafood that can be very reasonably priced. It would be worthwhile to explore if you attend a seaside university.
3 Look for offers
Be on the lookout for seafood promotions. It's an excellent pretext for attempting novel things. If you are unsure of how to prepare specific varieties of fish, go through our recipe collection or conduct a fast Google search for ideas.
