Simple Milkshake Recipe: How to Make One

Because they are so irresistible, you'll be attempting to consume every last drop of these creamy, thick milkshakes. Here's How to Make a Milkshake: They're the ideal treat for any season. Two ingredients are all you need, and you may add as many toppings as you wish to make it your own!

You only need two ingredients to make a milkshake, but do you know the ideal proportion? It can be a little disheartening to consume a milkshake with more juice-like consistency or so thick that the straw won't fit through it.

So now I'm going to show you how to make the ideal milkshake, and you can use it as a template to add any flavor you wish. You don't like milkshakes in the cooler months. Instead, try my Hot Chocolate Bombs or plain Hot Chocolate!

WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE THIS RECIPE

Ice cream – full-fat ice cream will yield the creamiest and smoothest milkshake. Low-fat ice cream just isn’t the same! Choose the highest quality ice cream you’re able to find in stores.

Milk – use whatever milk you have at home. Just keep in mind that the higher the fat percentage of your milk, the creamier your milkshake will be. I use whole milk.

Toppings – take your pick on your toppings. I love adding whipped cream, sprinkles, and a cherry.

A MILKSHAKE PROCESS

1. Fill the blender with the ice cream.

2. Fill the blender with the milk.

3. Mix at low speed until smooth.

4. Pour into a cup, top with whipped cream, and serve.

5. Add a few garnishes.

6. And, if preferred, a cherry.

Pro top tips for making this recipe

  • Try replacing the milk in this milkshake with heavy cream to make it even creamier.
  • Make careful you buy authentic, 100% dairy ice cream while buying it. There are ice creams that are prepared using vegetable oils and are referred to as "frozen treats."
  • Allow the ice cream to sit at room temperature for approximately 5 minutes so that it can soften enough to scoop.
  • Add more milk a few splashes at a time if you find the milkshake to be a touch too thick for your taste.
  • You can put your glasses in the freezer in advance to assist your drink to stay cool for longer.
  • Not having whipped cream on hand in a can? Make some homemade whipped cream, perhaps.
  • Don't mix in any ice. Ice will dilute your beverage.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW DO I MAKE DIFFERENT FLAVORS?

With a few quick substitutions, the flavor may be readily changed. Use strawberry, chocolate, mint chocolate chip, chocolate peanut butter, matcha green tea, and other kinds of ice cream, for instance! There are countless alternatives. You can substitute any type of milk available in your neighborhood grocery store for the milk, whether it be chocolate, strawberry, banana, or any other flavor.

WHAT ELSE CAN I USE AS A TOPPING?

Chocolate syrup, strawberry syrup, caramel sauce, crushed cookies, chopped almonds, fresh fruit, and candies are a few suggestions for topping milkshakes. Try my Freakshake if you're feeling extra indulgent. You might try making my homemade marshmallows to put on top of your beverage if you have some additional time.

WHAT IF I DON’T HAVE A BLENDER?

Use a food processor instead of a blender if you don't have one. If you don't have a food processor, you can combine the ingredients with a stand mixer.

CAN I MAKE THIS AHEAD OF TIME?

You should enjoy your milkshake right after making it, in my opinion.
