No Bake Cookies

Oats, peanut butter, and chocolate No Bake Cookies that are quite delectable. These cookies have the most delicious fudgy and chewy texture and can be made really quickly. They are ready to eat in only 30 minutes!

The greatest cookies to prepare when you're craving something sweet are traditional no-bake cookies. They take no time at all to make—I'm talking about 10 minutes for prep and 20 minutes for setting—and are created using simple pantry ingredients (no flour nor eggs are required). Insanely tasty and simple to make, they are sure to become a family favorite. They have a delicious peanut butter and chocolate flavor that is hard to resist, and they are rich and fudgy.

REQUIREMENTS FOR MAKING THIS RECIPE


Cocoa powder – this adds an incredible chocolate flavor, use 100% cocoa if possible just choose your favorite brand.

Oats – quick cooking oats are best for this recipe I don’t recommend using old fashioned oats because they will make the cookies extra chewy and slightly drier.

Peanut butter – use peanut butter without excess oil such as Jif (pictured above) or Skippy. I like to use creamy peanut butter but you can use crunchy peanut butter too for added texture.

Sugar – granulated sugar works best not only for flavor but to help the cookies set.

Butter – butter adds flavor and helps the cookies set, I recommend using unsalted because the peanut butter already has salt added. Do not use margarine, coconut oil, or anything else or they won’t set.

Vanilla – make sure to use real vanilla extract and not essence.

Milk – I use whole milk to make my no bake cookies but you can use any milk you like even non dairy milk such as almond milk is fine.

HOW TO MAKE NO-BAKE COOKIES


1. Combine the peanut butter and oats in a bowl, then set it aside.

2. In a medium saucepan, combine the butter, milk, sugar, and cocoa powder. Bring to a        boil.


3. The mixture should boil for exactly one minute.

4. Turn off the heat and stir in the vanilla, peanut butter, and oats.


5. Stir until everything is combined.

6. Scoop the cookies onto a baking sheet with a cookie scoop, and then leave them to            cool for 20 to 30 minutes.


FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

MY COOKIES DIDN’T SET, WHAT DID I DO WRONG?

If you don't boil the mixture for a long enough time, the cookies won't set. Using a timer will prevent you from having to estimate when the minute has passed. They will get overly dry if you cook them for too long. Try placing them in the refrigerator to chill and firm up if you're having trouble getting them to set.

CAN I USE OLD FASHIONED ROLLED OATS INSTEAD OF QUICK OATS?

Quick oats are what I use because they absorb liquid more quickly and give the cookies a somewhat chewy feel. Due to the larger size of old-fashioned oats and their inability to readily absorb liquid, your cookies will be significantly chewier. If you have old-fashioned oats, I suggest first pulverizing them in a food processor into smaller pieces.

CAN I MAKE VARIATIONS?

These cookies are undoubtedly great when combined with roughly chopped toasted peanuts, shredded coconut, dried fruit like raisins, cherries, or cranberries, and even chocolate chips for an added chocolate kick.

HOW LONG DO THEY LAST, CAN THEY BE FROZEN?

These cookies can be stored in the refrigerator for two weeks or for up to a week in an airtight container. The cookies can be frozen for up to three months; thoroughly defrost them before serving.
